The contest will end in a few days...

...so don't miss out on your chocolate reward.

Yeah! This has been fun. I think I'll give it a few more days and see if anyone else wants to share their favorite. While reading a book to Carlee tonight I was reminded of one of my favorite quotes.

"A PERSON'S A PERSON, NO MATTER HOW SMALL"

Do any of you know what book that came from? Put your guesses as a comment and you may win 2, make that TWO, chocolate treats.

I definitely know that one, Dr. Seuss! Isn't it from Horton hears a hoo? I keep hopping on your blog to see if I can catch another shot of Shay and the kids! I bet you are having so much fun with them, I wish I could see them too!! Your welcome to them was so sweet.

ok mom, you got me thinking about my favorite quotes, so i got out my quote book. here they come...

If dad were to get on here his quote would be, "Like many fly fisherman in western Montana where the summer days are almost Artic in length, I often do not start fishing until the cool of the evening. Then in the Artic half-light of the canyon, all existence fades to a being with my soul and memories and the sound of the Big Blockfoot River and a four-count rhythm and the hope that fish will rise. Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
I am haunted by waters."
- Norman MacLean: "A River Runs Through It"

"It's going to hurt whether you run fast or whether you run slow, so just run fast!"
-Coach Bart Thompson

"Don't watch the clock. Do what it does. Keep going."
-Sam Levenson

"Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning."
- Gloria Steinem

"One can never consent to creep when on feels the impulse to soar."
- Hellen Keller

And one of your quotes...
"Many small people, in many small places, doing many small things can alter the face of the earth."
(Quote found on Berlin Wall)

ok. one more.

INVICTUS

Out of the night that covers me
Black as the pit from pole to pole
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul

In the fell clutch circumstance
I have not winced not cried aloud
Under the blundgeoning of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms the horror of the shade
And yet the meance of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid

It matters not how straight the gate
How charged with punishments the scroll
I am the mater of my fate
I am the captain of my soul.
- William Ernest Henley

Why God Made Little Girls

God made the world with its towering trees, majestic mountains and restless seas, then paused and said, "It needs one more thing, someone to laugh and dance and sing. To walk in the woods and gather flowers, to commune with nature in quite hours."
So God made little girls, with laughing eyes and bouncing curls, with joyful hearts and infectious smiles, enchanting ways and feminine wiles. And when he completed the task He'd begun, he was pleased and proud of the job He'd done. For the world, when seen through a little girl's eyes, greatly resembles Paradise.
